6 tips to pack your suitcase

You finally said to yourself “Yes”, the wedding is over, everyone is happy, now it’s time for this long-awaited trip: The honeymoon!

As they say, after effort comes comfort!

The lovebirds deserve this beautiful romantic trip, just the two of them away from the world to decompress from the stress of wedding preparations and find themselves in love for moments of complicity and well-being!

But before that, the second hurdle to overcome is: travel preparations!

And more precisely: Put all the clothes you need in the suitcase and be able to close it with ease!

A difficult challenge for most travellers, young and old!

To make it easier for you, we called on the luggage storage professionals and we’ve put together this little guide that will certainly be useful to you!

Ladies and gentlemen, here are some tips to follow to be able to organize your things and close your suitcase without the fuss:

Choosing the right suitcase:

The first and very important thing to do is to choose the right suitcase!

The one that will withstand the trip and allow you to take the most business:

So choose a lightweight model with maximum space inside:

A suitcase that has different compartments, external pockets to always save a little more space and space for shoes!

To know:

Be careful that the wheels do not take up excessive space inside your bag!

Organize your stuff:

As with marriage, the key to success is of course: Organization!

Suitcases also require organization!

Follow a step-by-step order of arrangement for your luggage!

We recommend this order:

Start by laying your clothes flat to make it easier!

Next, start your suitcase with the bulkier items like shoesthen fill in the gaps with T-shirts, socks or even ties! Then put on your stockings!

Separate the two “levels” of a bag on which you will put your toiletry bag, your glasses, your computer and your camera!

That way, your valuables will be protected in case of a shock!

Your shirts will be on top of the pile!

The Bundle Packing technique:

This storage technique consists of packing the clothes together by layering them.

Here is an example for better understanding:

Start by laying a first T-shirt flat.

Then lay a T-shirt on top in the opposite direction.

Lay the top of a pair of pants folded in half lengthwise in the center of this pile, legs facing out. Repeat the same operation on the opposite!

Once the pile of clothes is made, the ends are folded down to form a rectangular package that will slip easily into your suitcase.

Remember to layer your clothes in general, especially your bras.

Little tip:

If you are going to the sea, know that your swimsuit tops can be used as a bra and thus save you an excess of underwear!

Storage the Packing method:

If you liked the rectangular package method, then here is a second storage method that is particularly popular with adventurers!

This method consists of rolling the clothes to save space and avoid creasing.

Here are the steps you can take to save space without wrinkling your clothes:

  • Roll up the open part of your T-shirt or pants.
  • Fold the T-shirt in half by rolling down the sleeves.
  • Roll your rectangle of fabric tightly, towards the rolled up part.
  • Fold down the upturned part to close your roll and prevent it from unraveling.

You will be able to make your Ranger Packing like a pro thanks to the tutorials available on YouTube or on social networks!

Little tip:

Super Ranger Packing is a simple and effective method that consists of rolling together a T-shirt, boxer shorts or panties and a pair of socks!

Think about and choose your outfits in advance:

To avoid packing clothes that you won’t wear on your honeymoon, think about your outfits in advance, depending on the place and the activities you want to do!

We recommend that you take basics and especially colors that go together easily (white, red, green or black)!

Choose two bottoms and a few tops adaptable to all your outfits.

We recommend that you choose a neutral and simple pair of shoes such as trainers, with flat soles rather than wedges which take up a lot of space.

Little tip:

If you insist on packing your heels to go with your cocktail dress, then consider wearing your bulkiest shoes on your feet while travelling!

This will save you space in your suitcases!

Use all empty spaces!

A perfectly made suitcase should not have empty spaces.

Little tip:

Use small items like socks, jerseys, ties, helmets, belts and other accessories that you slip inside your shoes or in the recesses of your suitcase!

Here are some other tips that will make your life easier and allow you to transport your objects without “small accidents”!

  • Place your heaviest items near the wheels of the case
  • Store your toiletries in a transparent bag to avoid small accidents.
  • Gather high-tech items in a separate pouch
  • Protect breakable objects by putting them in socks
  • Store your shoes in shower caps
  • Put your socks inside your shoes so they keep their shape.
  • Place your shoes towards the edges and wheels so they take up less space in your suitcases.
  • Use a soft closet to keep your things neatly folded.
  • Put your necklaces in straws so they don’t get tangled.
  • To avoid losing your earrings, keep the sets on a button.
  • Prevent your shower gels and shampoos from running with plastic wrap.
  • Put all your liquid products in a bag so as not to stain your belongings.
